Responsibilities
As a Class 1 Truck Driver with Arrow, your primary responsibility will be hauling wood fibre locally using B-train and walking floor trailers. The materials include grindings, sawdust and hogfuel, transported to and from bush grinder locations within the Kamloops region, typically staying within a two-hour radius of the local pulp mill.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cargo Management:
- Oversee cargo handling and secure loads.
- Prepare equipment and apply safe loading practices.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Equipment Inspections:
- Conduct pre-trip, post-trip and en-route inspections to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
- Legislative Compliance:
- Follow regulations related to safe operation, load securement, hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods and weights and dimensions.
- Documentation:
- Maintain and check documentation such as bills of lading for accuracy and completeness.
- Communication:
- Operate tools like truck cab computers, two-way radios and telephones to exchange necessary information with dispatch, supervisors or other drivers.
- Electronic Logs:
- Record working hours and maintain logs of vehicle service and repair statuses.
- Professionalism:
- Maintain a respectful and professional demeanor with customers, colleagues and the public.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Licensing and Experience:
- Class 1 Truck Driver’s License
- Minimum of three years of experience driving a logging truck preferred
- Experience with B-trains or equivalent, as well as mountain and off-road driving
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in tire chaining
- Screening:
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- References:
- At least two professional references
