New Canadian Scholarship Available for Aspiring Students; A new Canadian scholarship program that hopes to help students achieve their educational goals has just been announced.
This new scholarship program called the Canadian Opportunity Scholarship (COS) will award $5,000 scholarships to full-time students who’ve been accepted to eligible Canadian universities and are Canadian citizens or permanent residents living in Canada (this doesn’t include students who have lived outside of Canada for more than five years).

The number of scholarships available will depend on how much money the government decides to allocate each year, but the program plans to award at least 1000 scholarships each year from now on out.

Here is a list of some of these prestigious scholarships and why they’re so important to Canada as a whole.
The Google Canada Scholarship:
This scholarship, created by Google to recognize Canadian student excellence in computer science and related fields, will award CAD 10,000 to four different students across Canada.
The applicants should have relevant technical skills but are not required to have an active Google account.
The Community Foundation’s Innovation Fund:
This scholarship is funded by The Community Foundation, a charitable organization in Ontario.
It assists students who are pursuing unique projects that are outside of traditional parameters or experience.
Applications can be submitted at any time and there is no minimum GPA requirement to qualify.
The National Bank Jean Coutu Group Scholarships:
This scholarship offers CAD 10,000 to a student with a disability who is entering their final year of study at an accredited academic institution.
Preference is given to candidates who are pursuing an honors degree, especially in arts and humanities.
Applicants should have excellent grades, be able to demonstrate their knowledge of French or English, and display exceptional involvement in extracurricular activities.
The J.W. McConnell Family Foundation Fresh Ideas Award:
This scholarship, valued at CAD 500, is awarded to two individuals who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

About the Canada-China Scholarships (CCS) program
The Canada-China Scholarships (CCS) program offers Chinese students scholarships to study in Canada.
The program was launched in 2004, to promote academic exchanges between China and Canada by supporting Chinese students who are awarded a scholarship by a Canadian institution and plan to pursue graduate studies in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, or health sciences at a Canadian university.
The deadline is usually September 30th of each year, and selection is based on merits as well as financial needs.
Applicants can be either first-time graduate students or those already enrolled in an MSc or Ph.D. program in these disciplines.
Up to CAD 10,000 per student per academic year will be granted from the CCS scholarship fund which is administered by participating universities.

The New Canadian University Grant is open to all students with Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status who have lived in Canada for less than 10 years.
The annual award amount is based on your financial need and awarded directly to you to apply toward tuition fees at any accredited post-secondary institution in Canada.
To be eligible for consideration, students must be enrolled full-time as degree-seeking students in an undergraduate program of studies not leading to a degree awarded by a school outside of Canada.
Eligible institutions include colleges, universities, technical institutes, professional schools, and community colleges.

The Alberta Innovates Health Solutions Scholarships & Bursaries Program application procedure is quite simple, yet thorough.
