7) Aim For High Test Scores
Test scores play a big role in determining whether you get into college, but don’t let that discourage you from applying if your scores aren’t perfect.
There are many scholarship opportunities available specifically for those with higher-than-average test scores and these can range from $500 up to full tuition or a full ride.
If you have some time and want to work on improving your grades or test scores, it may be worth checking out some of these options:
Insight Scholarship Award this award is open to high school seniors who will be attending an accredited U.S. institution in the fall.
Applicants must demonstrate a strong academic record, participation in extracurricular activities, and leadership experience while maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA (or its equivalent).
There is no essay requirement, but applicants must submit two letters of recommendation, this award covers all tuition and fees, a $1,000 book allowance, and an allowance for living expenses.
It is open to current high school seniors, who must have a minimum 2.8 GPA and rank in the upper one-third of their class.
Applicants must demonstrate financial need as well as leadership experience through extracurricular activities, volunteer service, or work experience.
