5) Be Aware of Common Scholarship Scams

Scholarship scams are often disguised as real opportunities, so be wary of anyone promising free money from a scholarship, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
If a representative claiming to work for an agency calls you and asks you to pay an application fee or tuition upfront just hang up.
Many of these fake agencies simply take your money without handing over any real awards.
Also, only use services that have been approved by your college and/or university, never respond to spam email offers or applications that arrive out of the blue.
There’s always some sort of catch involved when they promise something with no strings attached and they’ll catch you with their bad intentions!
